Every skilled craftsperson started somewhere.
Someone showed them how to measure accurately.
How to use a tool safely.
How to think through a problem.
How to turn raw materials into something useful.
Across Lagos, there are young people with curious minds, capable hands, and the determination to learn. Many of them have the potential to become exceptional makers, fabricators, designers, and builders.
What they often lack is access.
Access to tools.
Access to mentorship.
Access to a workshop.
Access to someone willing to teach.
At FABRIDIGTS, we believe skills should not be locked behind expensive barriers.
That belief is the reason the FABRIDIGTS School exists.
Every month, we will open our workshop to five students completely free of charge.
Over four weeks, students will learn the foundations of fabrication:
• Materials and workshop safety
• Measuring and precision
• Hand tools and workshop fundamentals
• Power tools and fabrication techniques
• Problem-solving through making
• Completing a real physical project
By the end of the programme, every student leaves with something more valuable than a certificate.
They leave with a skill.
A skill that can create opportunities.
A skill that can generate income.
A skill that can become a career.
A skill that nobody can take away from them.
An investment in people.
An investment in craftsmanship.
An investment in the next generation of builders.
Five students.
One month.
One craft.
Zero cost.
Built digitally.
Fabricated physically.
Designing Ideas. Fabricating Reality.
