Client
Harmony Events — premium event production company, Victoria Island, Lagos
Brief
We need a raised stage structure for the couple's table at a 400-guest wedding reception. The structure must be architecturally clean — no draping that hides the structure itself. A canopy overhead. Lighting integrated. It must feel like a stage set, not a hired riser.
Material Direction
Steel frame, plywood deck, integrated lighting, minimal draping
Timeline
4 weeks from brief to event night

Our Response
Harmony Events operates at the premium end of Lagos event production. Their brief was an unusual one: they wanted less decoration, not more. The structure itself should be the statement.
FABRIDIGTS designed a 4000mm x 1800mm raised platform — 400mm high — on a fully welded steel subframe. The platform deck in sanded and oiled plywood, smooth and clean. A steel pipe canopy rising 2400mm above the platform, 5000mm wide with a slight inward taper. From the canopy: 16 pendant lights at varying heights, all warm 2700K filament bulbs.
The entire structure disassembles into sections that fit through a standard doorway and transport in two vehicles. Assembly on site: four hours with three crew.
The only fabric used: a single panel of ivory raw silk suspended from the rear of the canopy as a backdrop — not covering the structure, but framing it.

Delivery Story
Installation at Eko Hotel took six hours on the day before the event. When the pendants were powered on during the final check that evening, the event producer stood in front of the stage for a long moment, then turned and said: ‘This is why we called you.’ The stage was photographed by the official event photographer and appeared in three Nigerian wedding publications the following month.
